What is the reason why cats keep barking at night?

Generally speaking, there are the following points:

The cat sees something that humans can’t see, so it will keep barking. Cats are nocturnal animals and have good vision at night. Therefore, they can always see things that humans can’t see at night: suddenly flying insects, nocturnal birds, moving lights, and so on. These moving and blinking things have aroused the cats’ great interest. When they see them, they will scream with excitement.

If you want to determine whether your cat barks because of something that human beings can’t see, you can combine the following behaviors to judge:

(1) The cat is always barking in a certain direction

(2) The cat’s cry is short and shrill

(3) The cat’s tail stood up and swayed from side to side, very excited

If your cat has the above behaviors, you can be sure that your cat is excited and barking when seeing good things. In this case, it is recommended that you pick up the cat and keep away from the direction of its barking. As long as it can’t see the objects that excite it, it will naturally stop barking.

The cat can’t sleep at night, making its owner play

As I said earlier, cats are nocturnal animals. They usually sleep during the day. At night, they are energetic, especially dairy cats and Siamese cats. They have the characteristics of consumption+energy and need to play very much. If their energy is not released, they will start shouting.

Cat owner wants to know whether the cat at home has been barking because of lack of play. The following factors can be combined:

(1) The cat barks intermittently. It usually barks and then pauses. If you ignore it, it will continue to bark

(2) The cat’s cry shows a state of impatience, similar to the sound of “Hmm~meow”. This sound can be heard if you take the cat to take a B-scan for a long time, just like a child’s pettish complaint

(3) Cats usually bark at you, and then look at you eagerly, with a strong purpose.

For this type of meow, Cat owner can play with them with a cat stick or a cat tunnel toy within an hour before sleeping, and let them simulate hunting and consume their physical strength. When their needs for play are met, they will no longer meow all the time.

The cat is in heat and is calling its companion by meowing

When the cat is in estrus, it is controlled by its own hormones. It will continue to emit a sad and lingering meow to attract the attention of its peers and mate. If our cat has the following behaviors, we can conclude that it is barking because of estrus.

(1) Cats have no habit of meowing at night.

(2) The meow of cats at night sounds sad and lingering, and some sounds like the cries of babies.

(3) In addition to meowing, cats have changed their temperament greatly. Some cats will behave extra and act coquettishly, while others will become very fierce. In short, they look like two people.

(4) Cats may have some bad behaviors, the most common of which is urination.

When the cat has determined that it is because of estrus and keeps crying, Cat owner should not hesitate to arrange sterilization.

The cat lacks a sense of security, so it keeps meowing!

This situation mainly occurs in novice cat families who have just brought in kittens. The cat has been meowing because it thought that it had suddenly left the familiar environment and felt very uneasy, so meowing.

Generally, this type of cat is prone to meow:

(1) Little milk cat. Because they are timid, they will be more easily upset when they leave the cat mother and go to a strange environment soon.

(2) A stray cat. Many stray cats are very vigilant. Even if they take the initiative to cheat others to eat and drink, it is another thing to be taken home by humans, so they will meow in fear.

If we encounter this type of cat, in addition to pacifying them slowly through food and toys, we can also wipe the cat with a towel, and then wipe the entire living environment with the towel that has been wiped, which will increase the cat’s sense of security.

Conclusion:

Whether it’s oestrus, want to play, lack of security, or the excitement of seeing bugs, in the final analysis, it’s because the needs of the cats at home have not been met enough. When the cats keep barking at night, we can solve the problem as long as we distinguish the real demand points.
